14er fun!!!

Ugh, I cannot get into a good blogging routine! I am sorry for the loooooong lapses between blogs. I really do think of you all! It’s just hard for me┬áto take the time to sit down and blog.

Several weeks ago, we climbed our first 14er (which in Colorado lingo is a 14,000 foot mountain). We attempted one 7 years ago shortly after moving to CO, and it was a terrible experience, so we haven’t tried it since. But I got a hankering to do one this summer, so we did!

We went with a group of friends from church and had a great time!

Getting ready to start!

The peak to the left is Greys Peak, which is the mountain we climbed. Many people do both in one day (the peak to the right is Torreys Peak), but frankly I wasn’t interested in doing both after reaching the first peak!

At the top!! The views were amazing!

Yay, so fun!! We are planning to hike Mt Elbert in August, which is the tallest peak in CO! Before you are too impressed, it’s also said to be the easier. Fun times!

I have been a very bad blogger! I am so sorry–time just seems to fly by anymore. I guess we have been having too much fun!

My parents were in CO this week for a visit and to help my sister move to MI–most of the time was spent getting her ready for her big move, but we did spend one day having fun together! Tuesday morning, we ate at our favorite breakfast spot then headed to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park. It was a great day!

Mom and Josh waiting for their yummy breakfast!

I couldn’t believe there was such a wait on a weekday–but it was worth the wait!

Jason LOVED all the pictures we were taking!

Mom eats gluten-free, and Snooze has gluten-free pancakes–she said they were wonderful!!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day in the park!!

The parents!

We found this amazing waterfall!

And we finally found some elk!

This elk was HUGE!

There were lots of beautiful flowers in Estes Park!

We had a very fun day!
