I met a blog friend this weekend! Sunday was Pugs in the Park, the annual fundraiser for Colorado Pug Rescue, and we met Melissa! She is such a sweetie and does beautiful work. If you have never looked at her website or purchased anything from her, I would highly encourage you to do so. Her work and all of the items she offers are amazing! We made a purchase but cannot share it with you just yet because it is a gift for someone who occasionally reads our blog. But go check out her website!

New Hairdo

I know that in the past many of you have complemented my curly hair, but I just could not take it anymore. Deep down, I am really a short hair girl–so I had it cut off this week!

(Please excuse the quality of this picture–it was late at night after a long day)

The stylist called it an “angled bob”–short in the back and longer in the front. I love it! I am not quite used to styling it yet, but I am hoping that will get easier. But I am very happy with the results!

Halloween Fun

I am finally getting around to blogging about the fun Halloween gift I won from Sandy! She sent it to me several weeks ago, and it is so great! The best part about it is definitely the card. She is so talented–it is precious!

Halloween is my favorite holiday to decorate for, so I was super excited to get some cute new decorations for Halloween. And I love holiday kitchen towels! I think it is so fun to put a little touch of the holidays in each room in the house.

Not pictured are the chocolate covered sunflower seeds, because we scarfed them down quickly. I wasn’t so sure about them at first, but I tried them and they were so good. A little too good–I could not stop eating them!

Thanks so much, Sandy! I love everything!

California Dreamin’

I am sorry, loyal blog readers, that I am finding it so hard to update my blog these days. Maybe someday I will get better at it again.

In the meantime, I must say I totally understand now while people want to live in California. I spent 4 days this week in Anaheim for our national sales meeting, and the climate is perfect. The temperature is perfect, the humidity is relatively low and there are no bugs.

We spent one evening in Disney’s California Adventure Park. They didn’t have all the rides open (I was bummed to see Tower of Terror was closed for the night) but I did ride California Screamin’ three times in a row (didn’t even have to get off, as there was no line). I rode it for a fourth time later that night, at which time I realized I am getting much too old for that kind of fun. We also rode Soarin’, which was great since we missed it at Disney World this spring. It was pretty cool!

It was a great trip!

Daisy

Puddleglum recently asked for a picture of Daisy, and we are happy to share one with you all! After I read about Zoe‘s new shirt, I decided I better look at the doggie shirts at Target while I was shopping tonight, and I found one for Daisy and Oscar. I actually got it with Oscar in mind, because it is a large, but Daisy modeled it this evening as well.

Speaking of Zoe, we are really, really glad she made it through her spay okay and are sorry to hear about the allergy to the stitches. Hope you are feeling better!

I also bought Oscar’s Halloween costume tonight. Daisy is going to recycle one of her past costumes, but I guarantee they will be super cute! Oscar was really excited about his costume, so I put it on him, and he ran around the house. Too cute!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Tag, I’m It!

I was tagged by my friend, Shiloh, to list 6 random things about myself. Here goes!

1. I almost came into the world 2 months early, but doctors intervened and kept me in until I was full-term. But my poor mom was on bedrest those last 2 months.

2. I always said I would NEVER have inside dogs and NEVER pick up dog poo (I also said I would NEVER get married….better watch what I say I will NEVER do!)

3. My dream job is to be a missionary or do humanitarian work abroad

4. When I was in elementary school, I had a phobia of vomit. There was a boy in my class who threw up regularly at school so he could go home. Much to my dismay, he had a crush on me and even gave me a little ring.

5. Most of the guys I ever dates had names that started with “J”

6. My all-time favorite books are the Little House on the Prairie books. I brought my old set home the last time I was in Texas and have been thinking about reading them again.

I would like to tag my sister-in-laws, and anyone else who wants to play!

TGIF!

Even though this was a short work-week, I am exhausted! I worked with my manager the past two days–I was really anxious about it, but she is so great and it went super well. It was reassuring to me that I am going in the right direction and doing a good job. This job is so different than my last job, so there is a pretty big learning curve. But so far, so good!

My sister is in town this weekend, so I am spending the day with her and her boyfriend tomorrow in Colorado Springs. Jason will have to miss it, but I am excited to spend some time with them. They live in Kansas, so I don’t get to see them often.

I hope you all have a great weekend! It is cloudy and cool here today, so it is really feeling like fall! Speaking of fall, I received my prize package from Sandy this week, and it is so cute! Our computer has been down, but it is fixed, and I found my camera (it was misplaced for a few days) so I will try to post pictures soon. The best part was the really cute card she sent–I think we all need to take lessons!
